The handleless style provides a neat and practical solution to snagging clothes and the chore of cleaning endless handles. Two styles lead the market. The J handle where a channel is cut into the door which your fingers are placed in to open. The drawbacks being that particles can be caught in the channel, finger marks will need cleaning and finger nail scratches may cause damage to the door finish. The second is the true handleless system where a metal channel runs behind the door and allows fingers to access the back of the door for opening. Cleaning is minimised as any finger marks are on the back of the door and fingernails are unlikely to scratch the metal channel. It is true to say, regardless of the J handles drawbacks it is the most popular choice.
